Sonic Columbia Women's City Golf Championship 2024

JUNE 3RD-4TH, 2024

FORT JACKSON GOLF CLUB

On June 3rd-4th, 2024, Columbia-area golf enthusiasts gathered at the beautiful Fort Jackson Golf Club for the Columbia City Women’s Golf Championship tournament. Sponsored by Sonic Drive-Ins, the tournament supported The Big Red Barn Retreat Center, which provides retreat programs for veterans and active soldiers.

The tournament featured friendly yet serious competition, with participants ranging from college students to retired octogenarians, competing at different skill levels.
There were winners and fun-loving players alike, all united by a shared goal: to contribute to the betterment of the community through golf. This effort deserves recognition and a pat on the back for everyone involved!

Special thanks to the tournament sponsor, Sonic Drive-Ins and Barbara Irons for her many years of support and generosity. Additionally, gratitude goes to the tournament board members for their time and efforts in organizing a successful event.

Additionally, a big thanks goes to the staff at Fort Jackson Golf Club, especially W. Paul Tabor, PGA, Head Golf Professional, for their outstanding support.

P.S. Congratulations are in order! A highlight of the last day, which almost went unnoticed, was an Eagle on hole #9 (Wildcat par 4) by Laura Kelly (Wildwood). The lucky playing partners who witnessed this excitement were Lynn Holmes and Deb Wiser.
